The eligibility criteria for the IIT-JEE exams, now known as JEE Advanced, typically include the following:

Performance in JEE Main: Candidates must qualify in the JEE Main examination. Only those who rank among the top a certain percentage of candidates (as decided by the JEE Advanced conducting authority) in their respective categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

Age Limit: General category candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997. There is a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, i.e., they should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.

Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2022 or 2023. Those appearing for their 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2024 are also eligible to apply.

Percentage Criteria: Candidates must secure a minimum percentage of marks in their 10+2 or equivalent examination, as specified by the JEE Advanced conducting authority.

It’s essential for candidates to thoroughly review the official information bulletin released by the organizing body of JEE Advanced each year to understand the specific eligibility criteria and any changes made.
